About the Role:


As a Senior Business Development Manager in the TMT & Healthcare sector team, you will play a key role in managing our relationships with international corporate clients in the EMEA region. Your focus area will be the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector, and you will contribute to developing this increasingly important sub-sector.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Client relationship management for all clients allocated to you and supporting the international network with sector expertise.
  • Managing deal flow and leading teams involved in transactions that have a large impact on our clients.
  • Working closely together with team members in other locations, and with various product specialists and local relationship managers across ING.
  • Developing healthcare and pharmaceutical sector knowledge and industry expertise, taking the lead for certain sub-sector assigned to you.
  • Driving the strategic dialogue with clients, and discussing beyond-banking initiatives.
  • Maintaining active contacts with other departments/disciplines within ING such as Corporate Finance, Lending, Loan Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Financial Markets, Transaction Services and Risk Management.
  • Pro-actively generating opportunities and transactions, contributing to the origination efforts of the team and of local relationship managers by driving sector analyses, presentations, and pitch books.
  • Originating flow business & deal opportunities, and safeguarding timely delivery of high-quality and seamless customer due diligence & transaction execution.
  • Structuring deals and overseeing the negotiating of transactions in which ING acts as lead arranger.
  • Guiding team members and Lending bankers on financial models, credit analyses, rating profiles and peer group analysis and managing credit applications.
  • Assessing and reviewing industry reports and due diligence on clients in a dynamic sector.
  • Directing balance sheet distribution and the syndication or co-ordination of transactions.
  • Guiding, training and supervising Associates and Analysts in the team.
  • Driving and monitoring portfolio management and KYC activities of team members for your clients.

The global TMT & Healthcare sector team consists of dedicated professionals located in New York, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.

Requirements:




  • An experienced Vice President.
  • An ambitious professional with a Masters' degree with excellent academic results.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Relationship-driven, people-oriented, finds it easy to make connections.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and commercial acumen, with a thorough grasp of credit risk and ability to build relationships with ING clients and industry professionals.
  • Strong connector, communicator and a highly effective team player.
  • A pro-active professional with a strong personal drive and a high level of self-motivation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ING's Wholesale Banking product suite, competitive positioning and appetite.
  • Affinity with the sector, and preferably prior experience with, or in, the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong project & time management skills. Is able to deal with pressure and performs under tight deadlines.
  • International experience and cultural sensitivity.


Working Arrangements:


We follow a flexible way of working, with both working from home and working from the office as well as the possibility for 20 business days annually of remote work outside the Netherlands.
