About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Odido. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and reliability of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement systems software that improves the stability, scalability, and availability of our products and services.
  • Develop patterns for automation, instrumentation, and monitoring that can be reused across teams and products.
  • Take ownership of several services and products, ensuring their smooth operation and continuous improvement.
  • Automate routine operational tasks, reducing the need for manual intervention and improving overall efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies for effective monitoring and observability of our systems, ensuring timely detection and resolution of issues.
  • Lead outage response calls and participate in incident management, ensuring quick resolution of issues and minimizing downtime.
  • Triage and fix system issues in a complex distributed landscape, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including weekend or after-hours coverage, to ensure 24/7 system availability.
  • Oversee and continuously improve incident-response processes at Odido, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Advocate for engineering best practices across the company, mentoring junior engineers on automation and operational best practices.
  • Contribute to Odido's growth through interviewing and onboarding, helping to build a strong and diverse team.

Requirements
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) and related technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Formation).
  • Good understanding of storage and database systems, caching, and queueing, networking.
  • Experience leading technical recoveries and designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
  • Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine operational tasks.
  • Solid foundation in Linux or Windows administration and troubleshooting.
  • Monitoring and observability technologies like Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch are a plus.
  • Understanding of Service level agreements and objectives.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Solid understanding of programming principles and good command of at least one programming language relevant for infrastructure work.
