Postdoctoral Researcher: Investigating Checkpoint Therapeutic Action on T Cells
1 week geleden
In this postdoctoral research position at AMOLF, you will contribute to the development of a novel cancer therapeutic approach by investigating the biophysical basis of checkpoint therapeutic action on T cells using single-molecule fluorescence microscopy.
Research ActivitiesAs a postdoctoral researcher in the Physics of Cellular Interactions group, you will work closely with the Fernandes group (University of Oxford) and other REPRESSIT partners to analyze the spatiotemporal dynamics of how different designs of RIPR molecules modulate T cell receptor signalling in live cells and model lipid bilayers.
You will employ single-molecule fluorescence microscopy and single-particle tracking techniques to study receptor organisation and receptor signalling, including adaptor protein recruitment. From these experiments, you will gain insights into the molecular basis of RIPR function and determine general biophysical design principles to improve the potency of RIPR molecules.
The performance of promising new RIPR designs will be tested and compared against conventional antibodies in preclinical models by our REPRESSIT partners. This project aims to develop and establish proof-of-concept of the REPRESSIT platform for bringing these molecules to the clinic and patients.
QualificationsYou need to meet the requirements for a doctorate degree and have research experience in a non-Dutch academic environment. We are looking for a (bio)physicist with experience in single-molecule fluorescence techniques or an experimental (bio)chemist with strong experience in biophysical techniques and data analysis.
Experience with single-molecule fluorescence microscopy, automated data analysis, and coding (Python) is highly desired. Knowledge of cell culture and/or protein biochemistry and/or model lipid systems would be an advantage.
Work EnvironmentAMOLF is a leading research institute that performs fundamental research on the physics of complex forms of matter. Our institute is located at Amsterdam Science Park and employs about 140 researchers and 80 support employees.
Our group is a supportive and social research group of about 8 PhD students and postdocs, working together in small teams on various projects from immunological signalling to signalling in synthetic cells.
Working Conditions- The working atmosphere at the institute is informal and collaborative.
- The position is a full-time appointment for 2 years.
- Salary is in scale 10 (CAO-OI) with a range of employment benefits.
- AMOLF assists with housing and visa applications and compensates transport costs and furnishing expenses.
For further information about the position, please contact Kristina Ganzinger or Raquel Martinez Gonzalez.
