Join Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management (GSAM) as an Associate in our Asset Finance team, based in The Hague. As part of one of the world's leading asset managers, you'll participate in exciting investment opportunities, collaborate with talented colleagues, and build meaningful relationships with clients.

Our Asset Finance team focuses on financings backed by physical and/or financial collateral, providing flexible funding solutions across the capital structure. You'll engage in a broad range of asset-based strategies, including RE financings, specialty mortgages, consumer and SME loans, fund financing, trade receivables, and hard asset financings.

As an Associate, you'll play a key role in the development and growth of our global asset finance platform. You'll get exposure to a global team and full spectrum of the team's activities, which are varied and challenging. You'll work collaboratively with teams across GSAM on initiatives that further improve overall performance and enable us to anticipate our clients' evolving needs.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses
  • Participate in structuring, negotiating, and documenting investments
  • Project manage transaction operations, including coordinating with multiple departments within the organization
  • Communicate and defend investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees
  • Actively monitor existing investments in the portfolio
  • Contribute to ensuring reporting excellence towards our clients
  • Contribute to platform expansion and potentially the introduction of new investment strategies

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience in fixed income at a bank, asset manager, rating agency, or other relevant financial institution
  • Strong quantitative, financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for investing with specific interest in credit / other structured products
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyze a variety of industries and businesses
  • Ability to self-direct, analyze, and evaluate and form independent judgments
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to build trust and confidence of colleagues, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialog and interactions, and collaborate well with others
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Fluent in English; fluency in other languages a plus
