Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced R&I Director to lead strategic initiatives and drive excellence in zones and categories. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of operational and strategic topics, directly reporting to the SVP of Categories and Zones for R&I.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Support: Provide advice on strategic decisions, ensuring alignment with overall company ambitions, R&I strategy, and agreed frameworks.
  • Strategy Implementation: Oversee strategy and ensure its effective implementation, including operational excellence.
  • Performance Management: Define and track performance against agreed key priorities through OKRs, providing a clear view of progress and areas needing attention.
  • Meeting Preparation: Prepare and follow up on key meetings and presentations.
  • Organizational Budget: Coordinate the organization's budget in partnership with finance and HR.
  • Project Management: Lead, oversee, or coordinate selected projects or task forces, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Communication: Act as a vital communication channel between the SVP R&I team and various other departments.
  • Operational Leadership: Develop and implement process improvements to create an improvement in performance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate effective collaboration among departments and external partners.

Key Interfaces:

  • SVP within R&I: Directly reporting to the SVP of Categories and Zones for R&I.
  • R&I Board Members: Collaborating with R&I board members to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Chief of Staff CRDO: Working closely with the Chief of Staff CRDO.
  • Finance and HR Business Partners: Partnering with finance and HR business partners to coordinate the organization's budget.

Requirements:

  • Experience: In excess of 10 years working within Research & Innovation.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in R&I leadership positions, including CODI, and preferably project and portfolio management.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
    • Advanced Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical skills to identify problems, evaluate options, and make informed decisions.
    • Operational Acumen: Developed operational acumen to drive process improvements.
    • Business Awareness: Strong business awareness and savviness.
    • Project Management: Project management experience, often managing multiple projects while maintaining clear communication and effective execution.
    • Communication and Influencing: Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
    • Emotional Intelligence: High emotional intelligence to build trust, understand interpersonal dynamics, and navigate complex organizational relationships.
    • Adaptability and Agility: Proven levels of adaptability and agility in navigating changing business landscapes.
    • Detail-Oriented: Detail-oriented with clarity of thought needed to present and work accurately with often confidential data.
    • Commitment to Excellence: Commitment to excellence and a positive and solutions-oriented mindset.
