About the Project
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team in designing and building a highly reliable optical lattice clock. This project involves collaboration with our partners from VSL and VU to distribute the frequency reference of this clock through fibre links across the Netherlands and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build a highly reliable optical lattice clock
- Collaborate with our partners to distribute the frequency reference of this clock
- Contribute to the development of a superradiant clock and a zero-deadtime, multi-ensemble clock
Requirements
- Master degree in atomic, molecular or optical physics
- Motivation to work in a challenging research field
- Good command of English
About the Position
This is a temporary contract for 38 hours per week for the duration of 4 years. The preferred starting date is autumn/spring. The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranges between € 2,973.00 and € 3,125.00 (scale P). We offer a favourable tax agreement, the '30% ruling', to non-Dutch applicants.
