Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Your Department: The ICT department is transitioning to an Agile way of working, part of the ICT Target Operating Model (TOM) improvement. Our ICT Core department is the backbone of our ICT Department, providing infrastructure, workplace, low-code platform, and data transport products to our internal organization.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain our current network infrastructure and perform required upgrades, in consultation with dev teams, to our systems.
  2. Identify and remediate gaps and keep the dev teams and the ops team updated to keep the network running at peak performance.
  3. Implement, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure solutions across a large organization ensuring proper network connectivity of all sites, servers, workstations, and other network appliances.
  4. Implement, configure, and utilize network monitoring tools to maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure issues.
  5. Maintain and manage network routers, switches, firewalls, and data centers.
  6. Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve highly complex network connectivity and security issues.
  7. Proactively manage standards, topology documentation, configuration files for network infrastructure.
  8. Participate in designing and implementing all network security solutions in collaboration with others in the Ops team.
  9. Communicate to all related stakeholders; ICT Service Centre, Dev Teams, Leadership, etc., throughout the entire incident activity.
  10. Automation of tasks and implementing improvements.

Qualifications:

  1. Solid knowledge and experience with network routing & switching.
  2. Understanding of some technologies in scope: Aruba CX routing and switching, Check Point, Internet & WAN, Network Load Balancers, Cloud networking, and Automation.
  3. Familiar with network load balancing techniques, VPN solutions, and wireless solutions to support the organization.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, oral and writing skills.
  5. Manage third-party vendors.
  6. Ability to learn and support new systems and technologies in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Excellent record keeping and attention to detail.
  8. Experience with any Incident & problem ticket application software as a plus.

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 5+ years of experience in Computer Technology supporting systems of which at least 3 years as Network Engineering.
  3. Experience in a multi-location, Microsoft Windows/ Linux, networked environment.
  4. Other industry standard certifications (Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.
  5. Detailed understanding of network topology design and implementation.
  6. Some previous experience with Windows Server / Linux and VMWare virtualization platforms are a plus.
  7. Fluent in both English and Dutch (written and verbal).
  8. Proven networking knowledge & skills (CCNP level or higher).
