Financial accountant

Dechra, a global specialist in veterinary pharmaceuticals, is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in Oudewater. This role offers a wide range of responsibilities, including managing and improving financial performance and direct accounting operations of our organization.

• Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition across 3 legal entities.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of monthly financial results in Hyperion Financial Management.
• Lead the preparation, review, and publishing of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Implement and maintain robust quality control over financial transactions and reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop, document, and continuously improve business processes to enhance internal controls and compliance.
• Manage banking relationships and coordinate communication with internal and external stakeholders on all bank-related matters.
• Coordinate and facilitate external audits, ensuring timely submission of deliverables to audit teams.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of relevant statistical reports.
• Perform additional controller duties as needed, providing financial insights and support to the organization.

• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
• Proven working experience as a (Financial) Controller
• Results-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills
• Decisive and able to effectively analyze problems
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive approach and able to manage multiple tasks
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Good knowledge of English and Dutch
