Software Development Team Lead with Technical Expertise

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Team Lead to join our team at Coolblue. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for building and leading a multidisciplinary team of developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that meets customer expectations.

About the Role

In this role, you will spend 75-80% of your time coding, engaging in technical discussions, making architectural decisions, and doing pair programming. You will work closely with the product owner, customer journey specialist, designer, and analyst to guide the team in the right direction.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring code quality by applying best practices and conducting code reviews. You will also continuously look for ways to improve collaboration and productivity within the team.

You will foster an open culture where feedback is the norm, allowing new team members to feel at home quickly. Your ultimate goal is to build software that delights our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building and leading a team that delivers robust software

  • Reviewing code, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of craftsmanship and collaboration
  • Coaching team members with continuous feedback and supporting their growth
  • Improving processes to fully leverage Scrum methodologies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 3 years of experience with TypeScript in scalable back-end projects
  • Experience with PHP is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in coaching and team development
  • Leadership skills that foster a positive, collaborative atmosphere
  • Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex decisions
  • Problem-solving ability and familiarity with SOLID, TDD, and BDD principles
  • A keen eye for code quality and a natural preference for agile working
