The System Service Technician is a key member of our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, responsible for performing planned maintenance, repairs, and other verification/qualification services on a variety of innovative laboratory instruments in a life science environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide planned maintenance and repair services for laboratory instruments
  • Engage with the Thermo Fisher Scientific Commercial Customer Excellence Hub team to provide instrument services in a professional and timely manner
  • Follow all reporting responsibilities and maintain technical competency through training and staying up-to-date on new products and technologies
  • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members

Requirements:

  • Requires a degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience and knowledge
  • Effective interpersonal skills, both oral and written in English
  • Basic technical, electronics/mechanical knowledge
  • Microsoft office knowledge
  • Punctuality and organizational skills
  • Ability to self-direct and requires minimal oversight

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven record of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Interest in learning and understanding instruments, IT systems, and processes

Working Conditions:

Requires the ability to lift up to 25 kg and may require standing for long periods of time while performing duties.
