We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Eindhoven University of Technology. The successful candidate will be part of the Heritage program, focusing on the development of sun-oriented 3D environments for sustainable energy systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and refine 3D models to simulate solar irradiance and environmental conditions over different time scales and spatial ranges.
- Employ big data analytics and remote sensing techniques to enhance the accuracy and applicability of these models.
- Collaborate with researchers from diverse disciplines within the Heritage program to contribute to interdisciplinary research efforts.
The PhD researcher will focus on the development of sun-oriented 3D environments, analyzing, simulating, developing, and experimentally testing these environments across varying time scales and spatial dimensions. The work will be anchored in the use of remote sensing and big data analytics to assess solar irradiance, temperatures, and humidity in built environments.
Requirements- A master's degree (or an equivalent university degree) in a relevant field such as engineering (with a focus on energy engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline), with demonstrated interest in Computer Science, AI, or Data.
- A research-oriented mindset with a strong interest in 3D modeling, remote sensing, and sustainable energy systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with various partners.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Full-time employment for four years, with an intermediate evaluation (go/no-go) after nine months.
- Salary and benefits in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale P (min. €2,872 max. €3,670).
- A year-end bonus of 8.3% and annual vacation pay of 8%.
