Postdoctoral Researcher in Solar Energy for Urban Decarbonization

Research Project Overview

We are seeking an ambitious postdoctoral researcher to contribute to our research project focused on decarbonizing urban heating and cooling using solar energy. The project aims to develop integrated solutions for energy harvesting, energy storage, and energy savings from both a technological and building integration perspective.

The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with our research team to explore novel ways of using solar energy to achieve carbon-free heating and cooling in urban areas. This involves modeling 3D solar irradiance distribution, feasibility studies on various solar energy technologies, storage technologies, and heating/cooling technologies, conceptual system designs, and prototyping and explorative testing of selected systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-quality academic research in the field of solar energy and urban decarbonization
  • Develop and implement integrated solutions for energy harvesting, energy storage, and energy savings
  • Collaborate with our research team to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Communicate research findings and results through publications and presentations
Requirements
  • PhD in Architectural Engineering, Sustainable Energy Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable domain
  • Demonstrable experience in energy simulation, scripting, and data analysis
  • Ability to conduct high-quality academic research and communicate results effectively
  • Excellent proficiency in English and good communication skills
