Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at TU Delft. The successful candidate will conduct research at the intersection of logic, optimization, machine learning, control, monitoring, interpretability, and visualization.

Research Focus

The PhD project will focus on advancing the theory and practice of formal AI verification and explainability. The researcher will work closely with domain experts from the Netherlands Railways (NS) to develop novel algorithms and techniques for AI systems.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in mathematics and/or computer science
  • Firm foundations in mathematics/logic/formal methods as well as algorithm design, optimization, and implementation
  • Experience in visualization/illustration/design is a plus
  • Strong programming skills
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
Conditions of Employment

The PhD researcher will be offered a 4-year period of employment in principle, with a 1.5-year contract followed by a 2.5-year contract. The salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
