Job Summary

We are looking for a results-driven individual with a strong background in accounting and finance to lead our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in preparing and auditing complex financial reports, with a strong understanding of Oracle general ledger or fixed assets, spreadsheet skills, and working knowledge of word processing, e-mail, and financial database applications.

About the Role

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of approximately €60,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on experience. As a Lead Financial Professional, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining general ledger accounts, including determining journal entry requirements and preparation and posting of journal entries;
  • Applying your knowledge of Dutch/US GAAP and related guidance;
  • Conducting preliminary reviews of financial reports prior to final close of general ledger;
  • Conducting monthly general ledger account reconciliations and other financial controls in compliance with company policy;
  • Performing analysis of financial results as part of the financial and operational review process;
  • Researching questions for management; investigating and explaining variances to expectations;
  • Understanding and maintaining assigned account/transaction or process from inception through approval, measurement, recording, reporting, and monitoring;
  • Participating in cross-functional work teams and continuously improving GXO Logistics processes;
  • Evaluating the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial reporting by auditing entries against financial activity and verifying that results are properly reported;
  • Continually looking to reduce company costs and spend associated with related responsibilities;
  • Performing other related duties and projects as assigned;
  • Consciously dealing with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water, and fuel consumption.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with any suitable combination of education, experience, or training accepted;
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a large, multi-component company and in preparing and auditing complex financial reports;
  • System knowledge, including intermediate knowledge of Oracle general ledger or fixed assets, spreadsheet skills, and working knowledge of word processing, e-mail, and financial database applications;
  • Fluent in English, with basic Dutch preferred.
