Senior Electrical Engineer for Sustainable Aircraft Projects

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at WFS PRO BV. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting our hybrid and full-electric customer programs, focusing on the development of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for sustainable aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing trade studies, design optimization studies, and multi-physics analysis on complex solutions
  • Advising on selection and qualification of components and constructions
  • Writing technical reports and specifications
  • Creating test plans, test samples, and executing testing in our in-house facility
  • Reporting and analyzing the multi-physics behavior of HVHP products

You will report to the Engineering Team Lead of the EWIS Components & Electronics design group within Engineering. This group consists of 15-20 (Senior) Engineers and will grow to 25-30 before 2024.

Requirements

Hard Skills:

  • 3-10 years of working experience in similar fields of expertise
  • Fluent English in speech and writing (including technical reports)
  • Familiarity with electrical cable- and termination design or power distribution
  • System design background in AC (600-30,000 Volts) industrial cabling (automotive, vessels, trains)
  • Vehicle/aircraft system integrator knowledge
  • Familiarity with definition of parts and materials (assemblies) and interactions
  • Experience with electrical system modeling tools (MATLAB, Ansys, Comsol, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods
  • EMI/EMC knowledge (how to design and predict the far/near HV cable field effects and on other systems around)
  • Physical effects on HVHP systems (e.g., transmission line effects, thermal, and others)
  • Familiarity with HVHP design (electrical and thermal) verification (prepare and execute testing and/or analysis)
  • Experience with certification and discussions with international (certification) authorities
  • Master the basics of Project Management

  • Teamwork: Able to work constructively in a small team, taking responsibility for assigned tasks, and willing to support other team members in achieving team targets and deadlines
  • Results-driven: Able to plan own work in line with project schedules and report progress regularly and timely in the event of issues or delays
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
