This position is a collaborative effort between the School of Chinese and the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Chinese archaeology or a closely related discipline. Preference will be given to those with expertise in archaeological data-driven research concerning macro development trends and patterns of Neolithic or early historical societies. A robust background in archaeological excavations and proficiency in the application of statistical methodologies within the field of archaeology is essential.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality undergraduate instruction.
- Supervising postgraduate research.
- Engaging in collaborative research projects.
Compensation: A competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include annual leave, medical coverage, and a retirement benefits scheme. The salary tax in Hong Kong is capped at 15% of gross income. A contract-end gratuity will also be provided, along with potential housing benefits.
