Mechanical Engineering Internship: Dynamic Systems

Introduction

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team at ASML. As a Mechanical Engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to work on dynamic systems and contribute to the development of our EUV source technology.

Background Information

The EUV light source is a critical component of our lithography systems, and our team is responsible for specifying, analyzing, designing, and testing fluid and thermal sub-systems and control solutions. As an intern, you will work closely with our engineers to understand the mechanical behavior of flexible hoses and develop guidelines for predicting their static and dynamic performances.

Your Assignment

Your tasks will include investigating existing literature on the topic, creating numerical models to simulate the behavior of flexible hoses, comparing results with experimental evidence, and validating the numerical simulations. You will also have the opportunity to work on ad hoc test cases and examine the influence of boundary conditions, part-to-part variation, and the impact of the surroundings.

Requirements

To be a match for this internship, you should have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering, with good knowledge of mechanics, mechanical dynamics, and theory of vibrations. You should also have some experience in static and dynamic calculations (FEM analysis) and be proficient in English.
