Job Overview

HE Space is seeking a highly skilled Communication Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our R&D department, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of cutting-edge communication systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of tender responses related to ESA R&D projects.
  • Support the management of industrial R&D activities in the areas of satellite modem physical and link layer analysis, design, prototyping, and testing.
  • Conduct internal technical analysis on future SATCOM systems, focusing on network design aspects.
  • Contribute to the preparation of R&D technology roadmaps in the area of telecom systems and networks.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Telecommunication Engineering with a strong emphasis on digital transmissions from the physical and MAC layer perspective.
  • Strong technical background in telecommunication engineering and knowledge of relevant communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of main satellite and terrestrial telecom standards is considered an asset, as well as experience with communication system HW prototyping and testing.
  • Broad technical expertise in telecommunication networks design, with a focus on physical and link layer, and a good understanding of multiple access telecommunication protocols.
  • Good knowledge and experience in the use of communication simulation software tools, such as Matlab and C++, and commercial simulators like STK, OPNET, and NS-3.
  • A few years of work experience in the field of complex digital communications systems, sub-systems, and networks is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
