Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join our team in studying the impact of anti-fouling agents on the cake-formation process in polymer fluidization.

The successful candidate will conduct experimental research using advanced fluidized bed reactor setups and develop predictive models to relate key parameters to the fouling behaviour. Discrete particle modeling will be performed to understand the details of electrostatics generation and transport through particle interactions.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions for fouling remediation in industrial applications.

Job Requirements
  • Talented and motivated MSc or engineer with a background in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or applied physics.
  • Experience with or affinity with multiphase systems, particularly fluidization technology.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in numerical modeling, particularly Discrete Element Models (DEM), and a solid understanding of electrostatic interactions in fluidized systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Conditions of Employment

We offer a challenging job for four years in a highly motivated team at a dynamic and ambitious University. You will be part of a highly profiled multidisciplinary collaboration where expertise of a variety of disciplines comes together.

The TU/e is located in one of the smartest regions of the world and part of the European technology hotspot 'Brainport Eindhoven'; well-known because of many high-tech industries and start-ups.

We offer you a meaningful job in a dynamic and ambitious university, in an interdisciplinary setting and within an international network. You will work on a beautiful, green campus within walking distance of the central train station.

In addition, we offer:

  • Full-time employment for four years, with an intermediate evaluation (go/no-go) after nine months. You will spend 10% of your employment on teaching tasks.
  • Salary and benefits (such as a pension scheme, paid pregnancy and maternity leave, partially paid parental leave) in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale P (min. €2,872 max. €3,670).
