About this role

TNO is seeking a highly motivated researcher to contribute to the development of electromembrane separation technologies for sustainable industrial electrification. As an intern, you will work in a team of researchers and engineers within the Sustainable Processes and Energy Systems department to identify promising electromembrane technology/application combinations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform proof-of-principle tests of selected use cases
  • Formulate an experimental plan with your supervisor
  • Analyse results with critical thinking
  • Learn and apply analytical techniques, such as HPLC(MS)
  • Organize and communicate results to an audience of scientists

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a MSc course within a relevant field, i.e. electrochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, process engineering, etc.
  • Hands-on attitude and basic knowledge of working in a laboratory
  • Prior knowledge on fundamentals of electrochemistry is a strong requirement
  • Good communication skills in English, particularly for presenting work and writing reports
