Description

The Senior Chemical Scientist plays a key role in advancing new ideas and developments in the field of plasma processing. As a subject matter expert, they are responsible for planning and conducting experiments, evaluating results, and interpreting data. Additionally, they will work closely with the ALSI machine platform team to integrate plasma processes and provide expert third-line backup for field issues.

Responsibilities and Activities

  • Develop and introduce chemical projects at ASMPT, including a plasma etching process and corresponding machine concept for the back-end semiconductor industry.
  • Communicate with external chemical experts to advance knowledge and expertise.
  • Identify and overcome challenges in existing processes, including plasma processing.
  • Analyze experimental results and formulate technical and scientific reports to a high standard.
  • Expand the application field of plasma processes and implement new chemical processes at customer sites.

Job Requirements

  • PhD degree in chemical engineering or physics.
  • At least 5 years of job experience in the field of plasma processing.
  • Experience with vacuum technology is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of laser processing is an advantage.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry, particularly in front- and back-end processing, is an advantage.
