Job Summary
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one of our engineering teams within the Box Sign organization in Amsterdam. This role requires a proactive leader adept at managing high-performing teams, delivering innovative products that are part of our business-critical systems, ensuring high quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and execution to final delivery.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships across the organization to ensure alignment on project priorities and execution.
- Lead a team of 7-9 backend and frontend engineers, ensuring a high standard of technical proficiency and teamwork.
- Maintain and enhance the quality and stability of business-critical services under your supervision.
- Ensure timely delivery of team projects aligned with company objectives.
- Provide mentorship and support career development for team members.
- Address and manage team performance effectively.
- Promote and implement technological advancements within the organization.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute the technical and product roadmap.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders to ensure project alignment and transparency.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years of direct experience leading engineering teams.
- Over five years of technical experience in building full-stack web applications within large-scale, distributed, and business-critical systems.
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated expertise in applying the Testing Pyramid methodology to ensure efficient and effective test coverage.
- Solid understanding and experience with service reliability concepts, including SLOs (Service Level Objectives) and SLIs (Service Level Indicators).
- Proven coaching skills with a track record of effectively developing team members and managing performance.
- Proven responsibility for the delivery and execution of team projects.
- Skilled in driving stakeholder alignment on team priorities and execution to ensure cohesive project outcomes.

About Our Culture
