Job Title: Assistant/ Associate Scientist – Specialist Critical Reagents

Yacht Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Assistant/ Associate Scientist to join our team at Janssen Vaccines & Prevention in Leiden. As a Specialist Critical Reagents, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Bacterial Vaccines department with multiple vaccine projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation and Inventory Management: Accurately document new and existing antigens, reference reagents, and biochemical samples in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and dedicated databases.
  • Sample Management: Perform inventory management, administer storage locations, and ensure timely distribution of reference materials to laboratory users.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Organize periodic testing and retesting of reference reagents, and maintain compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Database Management: Own and maintain dedicated databases of critical reagents, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Logistics and Communication: Ship and receive parcels to/from external collaborators and service companies, and maintain effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in a multidisciplinary team of researchers, demonstrating a willingness to learn and explore new protocols.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
