About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Westfalia Fruit. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of incoming materials, assessing quality, quantity, and adherence to specifications using standardized tools. You will also be responsible for managing and conducting various fruit sampling activities to support trials, shelf-life studies, and product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, assessing quality, quantity, and adherence to specifications using standardized tools.
- Accurately record findings, generate reports, and escalate critical issues as needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Manage fruit sample collection, preparation, storage, and basic quality testing.
- Monitor and report yield and defect data, by pallet and grower, from tests and trials.
- Assist in supervising external surveyors, participate in developing new quality control technologies, and prepare customer and laboratory samples.

Requirements:

- Prior experience in a quality control or related role, preferably within the fresh produce industry.
- Proven experience in conducting inspections of incoming raw materials according to established quality standards and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential quality issues during inspections.
- A demonstrated ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, technical teams, and external surveyors.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
