Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Procurement Leader to join our team at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) as Director, Procurement Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Raw Materials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key supplier relationships to ensure alignment with IFF business objectives. This includes developing and maintaining a strategy to source a competitive and cost-effective regional portfolio of raw materials across all manufacturing plants in their region.

This portfolio will include materials sourced regionally, with a common supply base and similar market forces. The individual is accountable for the management of raw material costs and performance, guiding the business on decisions related to commodity-based materials, including establishing the sourcing strategy and setting strategic objectives individually.

They will also participate in Category teams meetings to align the strategy with global, regional/cross-regional, and local business needs. The job function requires regional external interactions with suppliers and extensive market and supply network knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop regional category strategies for assigned categories and sub-categories to ensure raw material supply, manage costs, and capture savings.
  • Lead Key suppliers relationship management in the region.
  • Analyze and communicate market intelligence and information to facilitate informed business and customer pricing decisions.
  • Execute a disciplined application of strategic sourcing methodology.
  • Develop market intelligence and market analysis.
  • Support the team on developing new and existing supplier partnerships and collaboration to support growth strategy with innovation and technology.
  • Map risks and define a contingency plan to mitigate supply risks.
  • Define a 4-2-1 together with the team members with the optimization and continuous improvement ideas in raw material.
  • Assure the suppliers are meeting quality and service KPIs through collaboration with Creation & Application, Operations, and Quality.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum based on experience.

Required Experience:

  • Expert in the procurement area of responsibility with product depth and contacts in key supply markets (Commodities, processing chemicals and enzymes, others ingredients).
  • Team Management experience.
  • Related supply chain experience in the space operating around raw materials, suppliers, supplier relationship management and supply chain best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of business practices and financial concepts/impact/analyses.
  • CPSM or SPSM or related certification in supply chain or procurement excellence is desired.
