About the Internship

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Product Development team as a Research and Development Intern. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that accelerate the global energy transition.

Our team is responsible for developing innovative solutions for the energy industry, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about process technologies and process energy efficiency in hydrogen and syngas production, olefins production. You will work closely with our experts to develop a comprehensive understanding of heat transfer phenomena within tube-based heat transfer systems.

As a Research and Development Intern, you will be responsible for conducting CFD simulations to replicate fluid behavior and analyzing fluid velocity profiles and thermal patterns to lay the groundwork for accurate heat transfer predictions. You will also explore both laminar and transient flow regimes to gain insights into diverse operational scenarios.

Once you have gained a deep understanding of the heat transfer phenomena, you will help us augment CFD simulations with ML algorithms to extrapolate and interpolate data, enabling the prediction of nuanced states between simulated points. You will then deliver a written report and a presentation to the stakeholders with results, conclusions, and suggestions.

About You
  • You are currently enrolled in a MSc education in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • You are currently living in the Netherlands.
  • You are comfortable in writing and speaking in English. Being able to understand and speak Dutch is a plus.
  • You have an interest in the field of engineering in process industry and energy systems.
  • You have a good understanding of modeling of industrial systems, Matlab, and excel.
  • You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
