We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at TU Delft in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary research program focused on enabling integrated lightweight structures with thermoplastic composites.
Research FocusThe postdoctoral researcher will work on developing a macroscale model for debonding in stiffened panels using advanced computational tools. This project aims to improve the performance of thermoplastic composites by predicting their behavior under various conditions. The researcher will collaborate with other team members to integrate mesoscale model developments and experimental validation.
Requirements- PhD degree in a relevant field (Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) with a focus on computational mechanics
- Proven ability to formulate, implement, and test original numerical methods for simulation of solid materials or structures
- Independence, eagerness to learn, and openness to communicate and collaborate with other researchers
- Excellent command of English, both verbally and in writing
- Experience with fiber-reinforced composite materials and/or cohesive zone modeling is an advantage
