Job Description

Oceanwide is seeking a skilled Ship Electrician to join our team for a variety of vessel types, including TSHD dredgers, cutter suction dredgers, and cable layers. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing on-board electrical systems, collaborating closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure strict adherence to client standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the electrical integrity of on-board technical installations, optimizing systems and resolving related issues.
  • Take charge of electrical maintenance and modifications, consulting with the Chief Engineer as needed.
  • Work independently or collaboratively with colleagues to achieve objectives, depending on complexity.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate or higher vocational qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Valid seaman's book, medical certification, and STCW Basic Safety certificate required.
  • Minimum three years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, ideally in maritime or industrial automation.
  • Proficiency in network systems, communication/navigation systems, and remote connections.
  • Strong PLC and network expertise required.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, stress-resistance, and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in the English language.
