About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented VAT Compliance Specialist to join our team at Stryker European Operations Limited - Dutch Branch Office. As a VAT Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our VAT returns and compliance with all relevant tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a VAT portfolio, preparing and filing all VAT returns for designated registrations on time, including VAT returns, real-time reporting, intrastat, ESLs, and other local requirements.
  • Perform VAT:GL reconciliations, avoiding aged reconciling items.
  • Deal with queries from the business and tax authorities as and when they arise.
  • Seek to initiate process improvements, establish cross-functional teamwork, and assist in streamlining the VAT process.
  • Assist in implementing defined tax requirements and solutions within the VAT Compliance process.
  • Assist with projects regarding new business and integrations.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years' experience in a finance or accounting role, responsible for VAT compliance, ideally within an international environment.
  • Knowledge of one or more additional languages is a plus.
  • A self-starter who enjoys problem-solving and creating innovative solutions.
  • Ability to organize and direct diverse activities in a changing environment, often under time pressure.
  • High level of integrity, responsibility, discipline, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret data or trends from multiple sources and formats and create a comprehensive scientific review, including in-depth statistical analyses, risk management cross-check, and descriptive analyses, following complex and rigorous methodologies.
