Job Title: Security Manager
Locations: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Salary: €2700 - €3400 gross per month
About the Role:
The Security Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment for hotel staff and guests, and protecting the assets of the hotel. This position involves supervising and training security staff, as well as ensuring compliance with national laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage and develop the security team
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with national laws and regulations, management decisions, and the company's operating policies, processes, and procedures
- Complete tasks relevant to guests', employees', and visitors' safety and security within the hotel, including surveillance duties and public area vigilance
- Handle security and safety breaches, conduct investigations, and ensure an enjoyable guest experience
- Manage financial controls, prevent fraud, and manage costs
- Maintain good communication and work relationships with all areas of the hotel and coordinate with government and law enforcement agencies as necessary
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when personalizing external and internal guests' needs and the changing demand and priorities of the business
- Share best practices regarding efficiency and profitability
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Certifications: Beveiliger 2 diploma and BHV/EHBO diploma
- VOG (proof of good behavior)
- Organized and systematic approach to problem-solving
- Security industry experience in a managerial capacity
- Previous experience working in hotels
- Ability to listen and respond to demanding guest needs
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Accountable and resilient
- Committed to delivering high levels of customer service
- Ability to work under pressure
- Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
- Good grooming standards
- Available to work weekends
- Proficiency in Dutch is a must
