Corbion, a global leader in lactic acid and bio-based products, seeks a seasoned Senior Biochemical Process Design Specialist to join its Innovation Center. As a key member of the Process Technology group, you will play a pivotal role in creating value through innovation by exploring, developing, redesigning, optimizing, and scaling up processes.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for driving process design and optimization initiatives, focusing on sustainability-driven, computer-aided process design. This involves executing projects to steer the design and optimization of new or existing processes, generating process alternatives, and defining approaches for techno-economic and sustainability evaluations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and validate mechanistic and/or semi-empirical models of unit operations to accurately represent underlying process phenomena and assess impact on equipment and overall process design.
- Lead dynamic modeling efforts to assess process deviations and non-steady state conditions on plant operation.
- Reinforce and grow sustainable process design competence within Corbion.
We seek an experienced candidate with at least 5 years of work experience in applying modeling tools for process design and development. Your expertise should include proficiency in equation-based modeling software, preferably gPROMS, as well as experience in performing techno-economic evaluations and unit operation design.
