About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Damen Shipyards. As a Development Engineer for Electrical and Electronic Systems, you will be responsible for providing expert technical advice related to electrical and electronic system integration, especially regarding the implementation and integration of new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the implementation of suitable electrical engineering principles in ship designs.
- Provide consultative technical advice to business units, guiding them on product functionality, performance, and quality related to automation and system integration.
- Support the development of Damen's product range by applying your knowledge of automation and system integration.
- Travel to visit shipyards to assist in commissioning and perform yard and sea trials.
Requirements
- Master degree in applied technology such as Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Systems & control or equivalent.
- Relevant working experience is considered advantageous, but is not required.
- A basic understanding of (MB)SE principles to support the ability to design, specify, validate and implement electromechanical systems, interfaces and controls.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with specialists from diverse fields, including mechanics, hydromechanics, and data science.
- An independent and flexible attitude.
- A high level of proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing.
