Project Details
T cell dysfunction represents a significant challenge in oncology, contributing to tumor development and resistance to immunotherapy. A deeper mechanistic understanding of this phenomenon is crucial for enhancing immunotherapeutic strategies.
We are excited to announce our recent acquisition of an ERC Advanced grant for the project titled "ReverT." This initiative involves a function-based genetic CRISPR-Cas9 screening program aimed at identifying genes whose ablation can restore T cell functionality in vivo.
The project will employ a pooled and multimodal approach, allowing for the simultaneous analysis of various dysfunction phenotypes, including immune checkpoints, exhaustion, metabolism, recruitment, and proliferation. Preliminary findings have already highlighted several promising candidates, including key factors that influence multiple dysfunction contexts. We will utilize a range of ex-patient tumor models for validation and mechanistic exploration, with the ultimate goal of translating our discoveries into a preclinical framework to achieve more sustainable clinical outcomes.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with a robust background in immunology and a keen interest in both fundamental and translational cancer research. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting manuscripts and grant proposals. Proficiency in English and strong communication skills are essential, along with a collaborative mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a minimum employment duration of 2 years, with the potential for extension. The gross monthly salary ranges from €3,695 to €4,391, based on experience, in accordance with the applicable salary scale. The terms of employment align with the CAO Hospitals, including an end-of-year bonus and holiday remuneration.
