Job Summary

Nouvall Engineering Services B.V. is a leading provider of project support services for the (petro) chemical and maritime industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team.


Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex automation systems for naval vessels. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the construction and commissioning of advanced naval vessels with fully functional automated systems that meet rigorous regulations and standards.


You will craft automation concepts for intricate processes, covering a diverse array of onboard systems. Depending on the vessel's configuration, your designs may encompass critical defensive and deterrent systems. Your work will empower crew members to monitor and control all ship systems seamlessly.


Operating within our 3DExperience engineering environment, you will adhere to the V-model, overseeing the thorough review, testing, and verification of designs throughout the project lifecycle. Your efforts will culminate in the deployment of a new naval vessel, poised to safeguard our freedoms worldwide.


You will develop functional descriptions and engineering documentation for automated ship systems. You will create and maintain specification documents for automation components and installation procedures. You will draft comprehensive test and validation plans to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements during virtual and real-world testing phases.


You will manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely project contributions. You will review and integrate vendor and subcontractor designs into vessel designs. You will establish standards and methodologies for detailed engineering and commissioning.


You will provide technical support and commissioning activities for contracted projects.


Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing complex automation systems (PLC/SCADA), preferably in maritime, offshore, or industrial settings.


• Proven experience in complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams and multiple suppliers/subcontractors.


• Familiarity with model-based system engineering (MBSE) in accordance with the V-model.


• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Technical Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.


• Strong references, as pre-employment security screening is standard.


• Permanent EU citizenship and passport required.
