Mechanical Engineering Internship Opportunity

Introduction
ASML is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineering student to join our Opto-Mechanical Competence Group. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a challenging project that involves designing a general-purpose interlock system for optical fibers. This system must be compliant with general safety and ASML standards, and you will be responsible for conducting a safety review with safety officers, preparing drawings and documentation, and testing the design.
Background Information
The Opto-Mechanical Competence Group is a team of opto-mechanical engineers who engage in collecting and sharing opto-mechanical knowledge with design engineers. The group is responsible for gathering lessons learned throughout ASML and sharing these by creating documentation and training materials. The primary goal is to gather and communicate designs and to make this knowledge-sharing practice as common as possible.
Your Assignment
Your task will be to design a fiber connection interlock system that prevents the disconnection of the optical fiber when the laser source is engaged. This system must be robust and fail-safe, and you will be responsible for familiarizing yourself with existing interlock designs and safety standards.
Your Profile
To be a match for this internship, you should have a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mechatronics. You should also have experience with or an interest in opto-mechanical designs, and some CAD modeling experience (preferably NX). Good English communication skills are also essential.
This is a graduation/apprentice internship for 4-5 days a week with a duration of 4 to 6 months. The start date can be discussed.
