Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator to join our team at Crane Worldwide Logistics. This role will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the Global IT roadmap for Network and Client Services, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for regional network and client services issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Manage local IT vendors for telecom, hardware, and MSP services, ensuring compliance with Global IT directives.
  • Administer Azure and legacy VMware server environments, proposing design improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Monitor and maintain network/WAN connectivity, performing capacity planning to ensure efficient branch office communications.
  • Collaborate with network staff to resolve complex issues, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve overall performance.
  • Provide basic Azure AD and on-prem Active Directory administration, ensuring secure and reliable access to company resources.
  • Offer support to Systems, Telecom, and Support teams, escalating complex issues to external vendors as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party support on complex infrastructure issues, serving as incident owner throughout the lifecycle.
  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot messaging and meeting systems, ensuring seamless communication across the organization.
  • Support Inhouse Crane applications, including basic troubleshooting and escalation to relevant teams.
  • Assist with Warehouse Operations, ensuring efficient use of Windows technology RF Guns and Zebra Printers.
  • Set up and support Company Mobile Devices, ensuring secure and reliable access to company resources.
  • Plan and implement software installations, updates, and maintenance plans, liaising with corporate Network teams.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call network support, rotating with team members to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Own assigned fault investigations, liaising with customers and suppliers as necessary.
  • Monitor system assets, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Demonstrate a player/coach mindset, leading by example and mentoring team members.
  • Travel up to 50-75% of the time, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the team and company goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in related IT infrastructure, with a focus on corporate networking and systems.
  • Experience configuring Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, with expertise in 802.1q, 802.1af/at, and BGP.
  • Certification in Cisco CCNA and Fortinet is required, with experience in network cabling and device installation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other business software.
  • Strong understanding of network security protocols, including IPSEC VPN technology.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting or standing, with occasional use of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to use vision, adjust focus, and work on a standard computer screen.
  • Use of audio-visual equipment and hands to operate computer equipment.
  • Talking, hearing, and using hands to operate computer equipment.
  • Ability to work from the assigned worksite.

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient with email software, including Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong understanding of network design and implementation, including MPLS, VPN, and network connectivity.
  • Proficiency in switching and routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and route maps.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Exchange and M365 administration.
  • Strong understanding of network security protocols, including IPSEC VPN technology.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in related IT infrastructure, with a focus on corporate networking and systems.
