Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Sommelier to join our team at one of our esteemed restaurants in Amsterdam. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for curating an exceptional wine list, educating guests on wine pairings, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Curate a wine list featuring premium selections from renowned wine regions, including Burgundy, Bordeaux, and Tuscany.
• Develop and implement wine pairing menus, showcasing the art of wine and food pairing.
• Provide exceptional customer service, educating guests on wine selection and pairing.
• Manage wine inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine-friendly menus and promotions.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining environment.
• Expertise in guiding and educating guests on wines from regions like Burgundy, Alsace, the Loire Valley, and Ribera del Duero.
• Passion for storytelling through wine, with the ability to elevate the guest experience through education and engagement.
• WSET Level 3 or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Ability to manage a sophisticated wine list featuring iconic producers such as Pol Roger, Ruinart, and Château Giscours.
