We invite applications for the role of Tenure-Track Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Assistant Professor (multiple positions available) within our esteemed faculty. This appointment is intended to commence at the earliest opportunity, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with potential for renewal based on performance and consideration for tenure before the conclusion of a second four-year term.
Candidates must hold a medical qualification that is registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, and ideally possess Fellow status with the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or an equivalent qualification. A strong clinical background and expertise in the relevant specialty are essential, alongside demonstrated experience in educating medical students, interns, and trainees. A proven ability to initiate and engage in basic, clinical, and/or translational research is critical. Additional academic qualifications such as MD, MS, or PhD are advantageous.
Successful candidates will be integrated into relevant departments, playing a pivotal role in enhancing clinical services. Responsibilities will also encompass the education of medical students, postgraduate teaching and supervision, as well as academic research. Duties may include assignments at affiliated hospitals and clinics.
Candidates with lesser qualifications and experience may be considered for the Clinical Assistant Professor role. Opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and academic advancement will be available, with dedicated time allocated for educational and clinical research activities, tailored to the interests and achievements of the appointees.
A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with annual leave and medical benefits. The salary tax rate is capped at 15% of gross income. The appointment will include a contract-end gratuity and contributions to a retirement benefits scheme, amounting to up to 15% of the basic salary. A start-up package aligned with the appointee's needs and experience will be provided, along with a monthly cash allowance and applicable housing benefits.
