Our Specialty Materials Business Group is a leading global producer of high-performance thermoplastic materials, offering both semi-finished products and completed components. Position Overview:
In this role, you will oversee operations (80%) and development (20%) at the site, ensuring that product delivery aligns with our quality standards and is executed safely and efficiently. As the Site Manager, you will cultivate an environment that adheres to our Mid Term Plan and complies with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the budget and production of plastic products while driving continuous improvements in manufacturing and overseeing capacity planning.
- Champion ESH initiatives by fostering a safety-first culture and ensuring a comprehensive Safety Plan is established.
- Create a high-quality work environment and collaborate with the Quality Manager on quality planning and execution.
- Ensure adherence to established quality, accuracy, and performance standards, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Evaluate employee performance and efficiency, approve hiring, terminations, transfers, and promotions, and collaborate with operations and HR management to develop ongoing training programs.
- Optimize employee management to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with Sales to innovate new products that drive business growth.
- Supervise the planning department to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of manufacturing processes.
- Establish and maintain performance metrics for manufacturing operations.
- Support infrastructural requirements and ensure coordination among relevant parties on site.
- Develop an organizational structure that provides the team with clear insights to define necessary tasks and programs to meet our objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations, preferably in the plastics or chemical industry.
- Proven expertise in Safety, Stable Operations, Continuous Improvement, and Project Management.
- Strong focus on standard setting, coaching, and communication skills to enhance team performance across all facets of plant operations.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a focus on critical success factors, KPIs, and data analysis.
- Effective change management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Hands-on approach and team-oriented mindset.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in Dutch (native) and English.
