Job Overview

Hitachi Energy, a leading global technology company, is seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Professional to join our European team. This role will play a vital part in bolstering our supply chain capabilities and driving innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain suitable offers during tender and execution phases of projects, including raw materials, semi-finished products, contracting for production and/or assembly.
  • Manage and control procurement processes, such as strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, and selection.
  • Lead vendor qualification processes, negotiate and contract with suppliers and subcontractors, and handle non-conformities and resulting potential claims.
  • Support further developing procurement order processes and contract administration.
  • Initiate Supplier Performance Management to improve operational supplier performance.
  • Manage supplier relationships, identifying risks, developing suppliers, conducting audits, and coordinating qualifications.
  • Work independently on projects or processes with limited supervision, coaching, and assessing professionals from SCM or other stakeholders.
  • Utilize and apply continuous improvement processes.
  • Develop and improve a strategic supplier portfolio based on various commodities.
  • Closely engage with the European SCM hub.
  • Collaborate with functions such as engineering, HSE, QA, and Project Management.

Requirements
  • A minimum 5 years of work experience in supply chain and/or project procurement.
  • Proven knowledge in the field, typically acquired through specific education or training, and work experience.
  • Affinity with technology, such as electrical or electromechanical manufacturing, is considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of the market and suppliers, along with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate supply chain objectives and deliver results.
  • Strong teamwork and ability to combine strategic thinking with tactical daily work.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and proficiency in SAP is a plus.
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal, with Dutch native speaker skills.

We offer a competitive salary package, which includes a gross annual salary of €80,000 - €100,000 depending on experience.
