About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Buyer to join our Supply Chain team at Hitachi Energy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for obtaining suitable offers during the tender and execution phases of projects, managing and controlling the procurement process, and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will be involved in strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, and selection to ensure the best possible outcomes for our projects.
  • You will manage the vendor qualification process, negotiate contracts, and handle non-conformities and potential claims.
  • You will support the development of the procurement order process and contract administration.
  • You will initiate Supplier Performance Management to improve operational supplier performance.
  • You will engage with our European SCM hub and work closely with functions such as engineering, HSE, QA, and Project Management.
  • You will live Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions and caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your Background

  • You have a minimum 5 years of work experience in supply chain and/or project procurement.
  • You have a Senior Professional background with proven knowledge in the field, acquired through specific education or training and work experience.
  • You have affinity with technology, such as electrical or electromechanical manufacturing, and knowledge of the market and suppliers.
  • You have excellent negotiation skills and can clearly communicate supply chain objectives and deliver results.
  • You have strong teamwork skills, combining strategic thinking with tactical daily work.
  • You have knowledge of ERP systems and proficiency in SAP is a plus.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and verbal, with Dutch as a native language.
