Expert in Energy Efficient HPU Design

About the Role:

Royal IHC is seeking a skilled professional to investigate and develop a smarter way of using Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs) to reduce energy consumption and lifetime costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create an overview of common HPU used cases.
  • Perform function analysis of each used case, determining the overall cost price, current efficiency, and lifetime costs.
  • Develop possible solutions for each case, comparing overall cost price against expected efficiency and costs during the HPU life cycle.
  • Liaise with IHC-SAS-Hytop engineers to understand their design approach and daily operations.
  • Collect information from other departments within Royal IHC (sales, management) to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Document selected updates in the concept design in sufficient detail, including sketches, drawings, calculations, and a final report.

Requirements:

  • Vocational education (HBO or WO) in a relevant field.
  • Study focused on creative machinery design or hydraulic engineering.
  • Knowledge and/or interest in offshore technology and preferably understanding of hydraulic equipment.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D modeling (desirable).
  • Good command of the English language, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to use feedback to improve work quality.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-critical.
