About the ProjectThe project aims to examine whether we still owe something to ourselves by combining the insights of the ongoing debate on duties to oneself, Kant's views on such duties, and the relevant conceptions in the literature on contemporary moral psychology.
Responsibilities- Conduct research on the concept of obligations to oneself and its implications for moral philosophy
- Develop and maintain a strong research profile and publication record
- Participate in research group meetings and contribute to the development of the research project
- Present papers at conferences and workshops
- Teach and supervise students in the BA and MA programmes in Philosophy
- PhD in Philosophy or a related field
- Strong research profile and publication record in relevant research areas
- Excellent command of English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Results-oriented and capable of highlighting the societal potential of your work
- A temporary position as a Postdoctoral Researcher for 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week) for one year, with the prospect of extension for another two years conditional on good performance
- A salary in accordance with the collective salary agreement of the Association of Dutch Universities (CAO) and depending on qualifications and experience
