Autonomous Systems Engineer for Optimized Drive Trains

We are seeking a highly skilled Autonomous Systems Engineer to join our team at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. As an expert in drive train systems, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and minimizing the required drive trains across our product range.

Job Description

This two-year post-master program is designed for talented engineers with a Master's degree in Engineering or a related field. You will undergo comprehensive training to prepare you with the necessary skills and knowledge to solve complex engineering challenges.

During the first year, you will work on a 10-week project module, applying your skills directly to the engineering challenge. In the second year, you will follow a one-year internship at Philips Drachten, focusing on solving the technological challenge of the project.

Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate the current motor, battery, and gearbox modules using existing simulation models, with potential modifications for optimization. Various methods, including AI-based algorithms, may be applied to achieve this goal.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Engineering or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in relevant engineering principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies, utilizing simulation software to model complex systems and predict their performance.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design tools and optimization algorithms, including AI-based approaches.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with critical analysis of complex engineering problems and proposal of innovative solutions.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • A strong awareness of sustainable design principles and their application in product development.
