The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Project Manager to join our Shipbuilding team. As a Junior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the engineering process and output within your discipline, ensuring a smooth building process. You will manage an engineering team and engineering partners, maintain contact with the client or their representatives, and ensure that the building yard has all the required information and necessary approvals are attained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an engineering team with engineers/lead engineers for the shipbuilding disciplines and support staff;
  • Provide technical support on projects when needed or asked for;
  • Manage Budget, Planning, Quality, and Risks with regard to the engineering of vessels;
  • Contact with the client or their representatives and manager outsourcing of engineering work, ensure that necessary approvals are attained;
  • Manage the integration of purchased systems, equipment, and the interfacing with other disciplines, including requests for quotations and the vendor data process;
  • Implement (standard) work processes in your project, organize review moments, and preparation of status reports, organizing document control and configuration control;
  • Ensure a good working environment and team spirit;
  • Actively participate in the engineering where required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture;
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience with maritime engineering in the maritime sector;
  • Preferably experience with standardized shipbuilding and series construction;
  • Familiarity with the Rules and Regulations and being able to interpret it and translate it for our projects;
  • Experience with software packages such as AutoCAD and Nupas-Cadmatic;
  • English is a must, Dutch is a plus.
