About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Shipbuilding Project Manager to join our team at Damen Shipyards. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for managing the engineering process and output within your discipline, ensuring a smooth building process and maintaining contact with clients and their representatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an engineering team with engineers and lead engineers for shipbuilding disciplines and support staff;
  • Provide technical support on projects as needed;
  • Manage budget, planning, quality, and risks related to engineering vessels;
  • Ensure necessary approvals are attained and manage the integration of purchased systems and equipment;
  • Implement standard work processes and organize review moments and status reports;
  • Ensure a good working environment and team spirit;
  • Participate in engineering activities as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture;
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience in maritime engineering;
  • Experience with standardized shipbuilding and series construction;
  • Familiarity with Rules and Regulations and ability to interpret and translate them;
  • Experience with software packages such as AutoCAD and Nupas-Cadmatic;
  • English is a must, Dutch is a plus.
