Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional lawyer who specializes in advising growing, fast-moving organizations on corporate planning, strategic decision-making, and growth. The General Counsel will be a strategic partner across the organization, with a deep knowledge of the business, industry, and associated legal, regulatory, and compliance issues.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement global policies, processes, and tools for contract, vendor, and project management that are innovative, cost-effective, and grounded in client-focused data-driven insights.
  • Create a foundation for our teams to be compliant with relevant laws and regulations, ensuring a strong risk management framework.
  • Establish internal policies and manage the impact of external factors on the organization, ensuring a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
  • Ensure adherence to global regulations, particularly for operations in the US and Europe, and provide strategic legal advice on compliance matters.
  • Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action, anticipating issues and estimating risks strategically.
  • Identify proactive solutions to eliminate or mitigate risks, basing decision-making on ethics and integrity.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel on employee rights, employer responsibilities, and distinctions between employees and independent contractors.
  • Build and maintain associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration across teams.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience, preferably in business-to-business (B2B) real estate client/customer service experience, with consultative customer service experience working within the real estate, financial services, fund management, consulting, banking, and/or ESG industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Sustainability, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent data management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
