Project Engineer Dredging Specialist

As a Project Engineer at Boskalis, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of dredging projects. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the work preparation phase, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to guarantee a smooth project start.
During the implementation phase, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the workload on the project, ensuring that high-quality work is delivered on time and in accordance with contractual agreements.
Your expertise will be crucial in combining knowledge with an ability to overview a situation or problem and determine the next steps. You will be a team player who knows how to interact smoothly with the client, the crew on a ship, external stakeholders, and our colleagues at the head office.
Key Responsibilities- Translate contract requirements into detailed planning and working methods to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
- Consult with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the right working methods, employees, and equipment are available when needed.
- Persuade stakeholders of the feasibility and safety of proposed solutions/methods and resulting specifications.
- Define the engineering scope for small projects or parts of complex projects, including staffing, planning, and budgeting.
- Supervise and assess work of colleagues, subcontractors, and customers to ensure projects and designs are executed in accordance with requirements.
- Report progress to internal and external stakeholders and identify deviations in time, engineering resource demand, quality, or cost compared to engineering planning, requirements, and budget.
- Participate in continuous improvement of department processes and procedures and evaluate the engineering process.
- Reside in Europe and have a European nationality.
- At least 5-7 years' relevant experience in a dredging, maritime, and/or offshore environment.
- Bachelor's in a technical field, preferably civil engineering, maritime engineering, or technical engineering.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- No problem traveling globally on a regular basis.
- No problem working on a location for 6 weeks at a stretch after which you will have 4 weeks of leave.
