We are currently recruiting for a Vice President, Strategic Planning for our Planning Division in Amsterdam. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to design and implement business strategies that drive growth and success.

Your impact at MUFG

  • Design MUFG wide business strategy and plan, and create subsequent strategic initiatives to pursue the corporate vision of MBE and to fulfill expectations from various stakeholders.
  • Implement or support implementation of MBE wide strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and assess strategic risks associated with the business strategy, in cooperation with the second line of defense.

Key responsibilities

  • Design business model/strategy, and formulate the bank-wide business plan in pursuit of achieving all the expectations from various stakeholders for MBE. This needs close communication with Tokyo and London Planning colleagues to align MUFG global strategy.
  • Implement some of the key corporate-wide strategic initiatives or support implementation of the initiatives for responsible divisions, playing a role of project manager, ensuring these are delivered on time within the set budget and that all planned business benefits are subsequently captured.
  • Provide MBE management with a wide range of information, proposals, and support to set forth corporate business strategy, plan, and initiatives.
  • Support creating communication strategy and plan for the announcement of the business strategy and plan or to update the progress of the plan and the initiatives.
  • Actively develop and maintain a wide range of contacts both internally and externally in order to obtain/exchange information, identify and establish best practice, and where appropriate, ascertain further customer requirements.
  • Identify and assess strategic risk associated with the business plan and the initiatives. Introduce appropriate risk management framework, co-working with the functions in the second line of defense, and propose company's appetite for the captured risks.
  • Ensure compliance with the MUFG's common & internal rules, standards, and reporting requirements, together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements, where appropriate, implementing actions to protect MBE's at all times.
  • In order to fulfill the assignment, if necessary and allowed, retain contractors or third-party consultants and form a team to create/submit/offer deliverables.

Requirements

  • The function requires an intellectual and working background at HBO level.
  • Experience in a similar function or relevant area.
  • Verbal and written business communication skill in English, and preferably the same level of the skill in Japanese.
  • Advanced skill of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong spirit of commitment to achieving the target in timely manner with promised quality.
  • Profound knowledge, skills, and experience for the development of corporate/business strategy and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills with relevant parties, including senior leaders in MBE and MUFG colleagues in EMEA/Tokyo to manage and settle issues among various stakeholders and move things forward.

Benefits

  • Gross salary based on experience and consistent with the market.
  • 8% holiday allowance and 13th month payment.

  • Commuting allowance based on annual public transport 2nd class, most economical way, or € 0.23 per km with a max of 75km one way.
