Job Title: Category Manager Ingredients

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager Ingredients to join our Intersnack Procurement team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for ingredients across the Intersnack Group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for ingredients, utilizing strategic sourcing processes, tools, and policies.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure the most beneficial commercial agreements.
  • Regularly analyze and report on ingredient market developments within the defined category.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and achieve a pipeline of initiatives, projects, and activities focused on sustainable cost base reduction.
  • Foster close working relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to integrate the category sourcing strategy.
  • Support the delivery of Intersnack Group objectives in terms of cost, quality, service, and innovation.
  • Help to solve operational issues, such as efficiency workstreams, supply interruptions, and contractual disputes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in strategic procurement in the food industry.
  • Fluent spoken and written English and German required. Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships and be a valuable team player with a solid intercultural orientation.
  • Personal drive, proactivity, results-oriented mindset, and business acumen.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel, mainly within Europe (up to 30%).

From Zevenaar and our hub sites in Düsseldorf/Cologne, DE, and Slough, UK, we manage the entire purchasing portfolio of the Intersnack Group. We produce savory snacks and crunchy popcorn as well as nutritious nuts and creamy peanut butter under brand names such as Chio, POM-BÄR, Tyrrell's, and KP, but also under private labels for retailers. We also supply semi-finished products to the food industry.

We are not listed on the stock exchange, which means we can be very entrepreneurial and develop a long-term strategy. We are a large European leader in our industry, yet remain entrepreneurial, flexible, and personal. That is also part of what makes us Intersnack; the atmosphere is pleasant, everyone knows each other, communication lines are short, and you get a lot of responsibility.
